The Grief Recovery Method
Joy is a certified Grief Recovery Method Specialists specially trained to create a safe environment for you to discover and complete the emotional pain you have been carrying surrounding a loss in your life. She is your “heart with ears” to listen and support you throughout the Grief Recovery Method, without any judgments, criticisms, or comparing losses.
The grief that comes with any emotional loss can be overwhelming and also very isolating. Often people find that those they normally count on for emotional support are at a total loss when it comes to offering effective and meaningful assistance. They will often give you logical reasons why you should not feel bad, but that rarely helps. Grief is emotional and not logical! You are suffering from a broken heart, not a broken head! The fact that you are seeking help in dealing with that emotional pain is not a sign of weakness, but rather a recognition on your part that you are interested in taking recovery actions!
Private, Comfortable Setting
While some people prefer to work in a group setting, with other grievers, many find it easier to work with a Trained Specialist one-on-one. This will allow you privacy in discussing your emotional pain with a trained professional, who has used the same tools they are offering you to deal with the heartbreak that has impacted their life!
This program is for those who prefer to work face to face with a trained and certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist 1-on-1, rather than in a group setting. This 7-meeting format utilizes the same proven materials as the group programs in a more private setting.

Schedule a Grief Recovery Workshop
Grief is emotional, not logical.
Did a death, divorce, or the end of a romantic relationship cause it? Or was it caused by any of the forty other losses that a person might experience such as moving, pet loss, or a change in finances? Regardless of the cause, you know how you feel and it probably isn’t good.
We aren’t going to tell you, “We know how you feel,” because we don’t. Neither does anyone else. What we will do is provide a safe environment where you will be given specific tools to help you recover from loss and ultimately lead a happier life.
The 8-meeting Grief Recovery Method Support Groups offers a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced. Workshops allow participants to work through a Workshop in a lecture-and-small group format. Participants learn from others whose grief may have divergent origins.
Workshops sponsored by organizations and churches are typically open to anyone experiencing grief. Alternatively, a corporation or support group may contract with Walking with Joy to offer a workshop more narrowly focused around those with a specific trauma (e.g., loss of a child, cancer) or within a single company.
Online One-on-One &
Difficulty coming to the office? Trying to work around kids’ nap schedules? Challenges being in the same space with your co-parent? Travel a lot for business? No problem!
